Aussie Flowering Gums, Ready to Burst

Well if you wanted a tough Native Australian plant with spectacular summer colour….this has to be it.

Grafted Flowering Gums which are now available at Annandale Garden Centre in 3 very bright colours – Red, Pink and Orange.

The varieties we currently have in stock can grow anywhere between 2m – 6m depending on the variety and colour that you select. They like to flower at Summer time each year, a bit like myself……..Typically the Red and Pink ones will be the larger growers and the smallest being the Orange, however this season, we have obtained some new varieties called “Baby Scarlett” (Red growing to 3m) and a couple called “Baby Orange” (growing to 3m tall) and “Mini Orange” (growing only to 2m tall). They will want at least half a day of sun to flourish.

The Pink one we have pictured above is called “Fairy Floss” which grows to 6m.

Use them as something reliable and vibrant to fill a position in your garden maybe or even to provide you with a bit of shade from the hot summer sun. Alternatively, as they are growing them to be smaller these days you could quite comfortably keep one in a pot as well.

Maybe we can get our hands on the elusive White Flowering Gum one of these days?…..

Terrariums and Terrarium making products available!

We are excited to announce we have some really great Terrariums on sale. !

They are low maintenance, look visually stunning and can be a great gift idea (but honestly why would you want to give one away!). With careful plant selection, Terrariums can be created to live in a well lit position indoors, without direct sunlight….. Something you can just see working on that shelf or table at your place ….. right?

Along with the pre-made Terrariums why not have a go at one yourself? They are alot of fun and we stock all the items required to “make your own” such as Glass Terrarium Vessels, Rocks and Coloured Gravel, Sphagnum Moss, Charcoal etc. and of course……..the plants. Your plant selection is always important and subtle considerations such as if you have a lid or not, will vary your plant options. Feel free to ask us our advice on them.

Lightweight Terrazzo Pots – New Range

After extensive searching for suitable Lightweight pots we have sourced a fantastic product of Lightweight Terrazzo Pots in a large range of shapes and sizes. The material is a compound of polymer, fiberglass and stone. It is durable and much lighter weight than regular stone and clay pots.

This range has a Terrazzo Stone finish and comes in Black or White. The smallest sizes in these pots start at 50cm such as Squares, Deep Round bowls, Shallow Low bowls (perfect as a water bowl) and also rectangular Troughs. The good news is these pots come in a range that extends to over 1m sized pots in each shape, perfect for that feature tree or row of troughs on the balcony or courtyard.

Suitable for Outdoor and Indoor use.
